Rev. Dr. Peter Doherty
Peter is the Founder of River’s Edge Evangelical Ministry and is an ordained minister through the National Association of Christian Ministers. Peter has been attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia since 2017 where he has obtained a Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in discipleship and a Masters of Religion degree with an emphasis on evangelism and church planting. Peter is currently working on completing a PhD in Bible Exposition at Liberty University as well. Peter has a passion for sharing the gospel and enriching the spiritual lives of fellow believers.
Mission Statements
Our ministry mission statement is to make disciples who are fruitful and multiply.
Our biblical mission statement is the Great Commission; “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Statement of Faith
We believe in one God who created all things and reigns as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus, being God, came to earth in human form and lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and was raised from the dead. We believe all mankind is sinful and will face judgement one day. We believe mankind is only saved by grace through faith in accepting Jesus with their heart and confessing He is Lord over all things. We believe the church is the body of Christ and is made up of many members untied together with Christ through faith. We believe in the authority of the Bible as the written word of God which reveals God’s plan of redemption for all mankind. We believe those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior must be born again and receive the Holy Spirit which empowers them to grow in faith and reveal His character in their thoughts, actions and words. We believe that through prayer Jesus intercedes with God who answers prayers in accordance with His will for the individual believer. We believe the Holy Spirit equips, empowers and transforms lives so they may be the light that shines into a dark and desperate world.
